This is my final project. It is centered around the idea of environmentalism, "going green". My family is very eco-conscious. We have a solar-powered house, and a Honda Civic Hybrid. My parents try to do lots of things to lower our carbon footprint, whether those things be small or large. These ideas have rubbed off on me as well. The two ideas that I depicted in this image are the solar panels on the house, and the hybrid car. I used both photoshop and illustrator for this project. I went online and found pictures of a house with solar panels, a street that could go in front of the house, and the car. I put those images together using photoshop, and tools such as the magic wand tool, rectangle tool, and image adjustments. Then i put the image into illustrator. I added a sun, and lighting effect with the flair tool on the sun. The shapes coming from the car represent greener emissions, some of them are hand drawn, while others are from the illustrator symbols. I also added text and made the word earth into a clipping mask with an image of the earth behind it.

This is my project for the grid project. I created it using text, which I converted to vector graphics. I decided to convert the P and the A to vector graphics because then they would stand out amongst the other letters, and PA would represent Pennsylvania, which is appropriate because I centered my project around Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. I used the clipping mask tool to place images in the P and the A. The image in the P is of a Philadelphia skyline next to water, and in the A is the Liberty Bell. I chose background colors, which I added using the rectangle tool, that I thought would complement the colors of the images nicely. I also added other images of scenes from Philadelphia as well.
This picture is of a place my grandparents used to live, called Sunset Beach, in North Carolina. I used to go there when I was little, and I loved searching for shells and sand dollars with my sister. My grandparents moved to another town, so we don't go to Sunset Beach anymore, but it is a fond memory of my childhood. One of my earliest memories is the time when my parents surprised my sister and I with a trip there. We only found out we were going when we were already in the car.

This is the image for my photo montage project. It is for an ice cream shop. It shows ice cream toppings and ice cream on top of the poster I made, which was a montage of people eating ice cream with the title "The Scoop" and a subtitle "Grand opening May 29th." If I were to redo this project, I think I would add a heading over the entire image, with the name of the ice cream shop and the address, because the name is hard to read from this image.

Activity I Enjoy: Movies
This image shows different ways of movie watching. I created the image by layering three different images found on the internet. One is of a couple watching a movie from their home, another of viewers in a movie theater, and another and older picture of people watching a movie with 3d glasses. I used the eraser tool, free transform tool, magnetic lasso tool, and the paint tool to create this image. I wanted the image to show an evolution of movie watching, a hobby I enjoy.

My Hometown
My hometown is a small town, Oxford, Connecticut. For this project I blended together pictures of things that remind me of home. The background is a picture of Southford falls, the streams and waterfalls that run through my town and the neighboring town. I also added a gazebo that is at our towns public library, the farm that is a very popular ice cream spot, and a cow, because my town is jokingly called a "cow town" by others in the area. I faded a picture of Connecticut with the town highlighted to show its location in the state. For this project I mostly used the magnetic lasso tool, the eraser tool, free transform tool, and layering.

I don't know how to use a comptuer
This image is the result of my lack of knowlege of Photoshop. I do not know how to use the program at all. I googled my first and last name, and blended two of the pictures i found, one of Marilyn Monroe, and one of an old lady. I only knew how to use the eraser tool on Photoshop, so I used that to fade the old woman's face and layer it over Marilyn Monroe's. I also used the eraser tool to erase out the background of the picture of the old woman. To me, Photoshop is very stressful, and I am not confident at all in my abilities to use the program.
